Tournament Champion's Technical Analysis
As a Beyblade veteran, ViperTail 5-80O is the prize Beyblade from Random Booster ViperTail Select (BX-16), and for good reason — this is a dedicated Stamina powerhouse. At 44.0 grams total weight, it's a substantial combo that pairs the ViperTail blade with the highly sought-after Orb bit. ViperTail is a Stamina Type blade designed to maintain spin velocity through smooth, low-recoil contact geometry, while the Orb bit is an upgraded version of the Ball bit with a smaller contact surface area on the stadium floor. This smaller footprint means less friction, higher Stamina, and better Knock-Out resistance than Ball — making ViperTail 5-80O one of the most effective pure Stamina combinations from the early Beyblade X era.
⚔️ Component Breakdown
Blade — ViperTail
ViperTail is a Stamina Type blade released as the headline blade of Random Booster ViperTail Select (BX-16) in October 2023. The blade features a smooth, round profile designed to minimise recoil during contact with opposing Beyblades. Its Gear Chip depicts a coiled viper, reflecting the blade's design philosophy of controlled, persistent spinning rather than aggressive engagement. ViperTail's low-recoil design preserves spin energy through contact, making it ideal for outspin strategies.
Ratchet — 5-80
The 5-80 ratchet features 5 identical protrusions at an 8.0 millimetre height. Compared to previous ratchets, the protrusions of 5-80 are wider, providing more coverage and stability. The 8.0mm height is the standard tall height shared with 3-80 and 4-80, keeping the centre of gravity at a moderate position. The five protrusions offer the most coverage of any standard ratchet count, creating a more stable platform for the Stamina-focused blade above.
Bit — Orb (O)
Orb is a Stamina Type bit featuring a ball tip similar to the previously released Ball (B) bit. The critical difference is that Orb has a smaller surface area contacting the stadium floor compared to Ball. This smaller contact point means less friction against the stadium, resulting in higher Stamina and better Knock-Out (KO) resistance. The hemispherical shape of the ball tip allows an Orb combo to naturally gravitate toward and stay in the centre of the stadium — the optimal position for outspin victories. Orb is widely considered one of the best Stamina bits in the Beyblade X system.
🏆 Competitive Build Strategy
Strengths
- ✓ Superior Orb bit - Smaller contact area than Ball means less friction and higher Stamina — one of the best Stamina bits available
- ✓ Excellent KO resistance - Orb's hemispherical shape keeps the combo centred in the stadium, resisting knockback
- ✓ ~44.0g total weight - Substantial weight provides rotational inertia for extended spin times
- ✓ Prize Beyblade rarity - As the prize pull from BX-16, this is the hardest variant to obtain from ViperTail Select

🎓 Beginner to Champion Path
Week 1-2: Getting Started
Launch ViperTail 5-80O with moderate power aimed at the centre of the stadium. The Orb bit will naturally guide the combo to the centre where it performs best. Avoid hard launches that send it careening around the stadium — this is a Stamina combo, not an Attack combo. Focus on consistent, centred launches.
Week 3-4: Building Skills
Practice adjusting your launch angle to counter different opponents. Against Attack types, a slightly tilted launch can help ViperTail absorb the initial impact without being knocked out. Against other Stamina types, a perfectly flat, centred launch maximises your spin time advantage from the Orb bit.
Week 5+: Tournament Ready
In competitive play, ViperTail 5-80O excels as a reliable Stamina pick in 3-on-3 deck formats. Pair it with an Attack type and a Defense type for a balanced deck. The Orb bit is also highly valuable as a standalone part — consider swapping it onto heavier Stamina blades like HellsScythe for even more dominant outspin performance. The 5-80 ratchet's wide protrusions also make it a solid choice for Defense combinations.
